ENVIRON also has a proven track record in running best practice clubs to guide groups of companies through environmental compliance requirements. In 2004 ENVIRON's best practice club for the electroplating industry sector guided 42 companies through integrated pollution prevention and control (IPPC) regulatory requirements and won awards in the UK and the USA:
- Surface Engineering Association (SEA) Outstanding Achievement Award 2004, UK
- Environment Business Journal Project Merit Award 2004, USA
"The SEA would like to thank ENVIRON for designing, developing and delivering the IPPC club. As with all aspects of business performance, best practice is key. The club has given member companies expert guidance on how to reduce environmental risks and improve resource efficiency to protect their competitive advantage".
David Elliott, Chief Executive, Surface Engineering Association
"The IPPC club has delivered a wide range of benefits to industry and the environmental regulators. Industry-led club approaches such as this should be applicable to IPPC in other sectors, and also to managing compliance with other environmental regulations. The IPPC club is an example for other industry sectors to follow"
Richard Vincent, Head of Industrial Pollution Control, DEFRA
